Topic: The Power to Sacrifice

Sacrifice means giving up something valuable—time, energy, resources, or possessions—for
God. True sacrifice costs something.
Romans 12:1 – Offer your body as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God.

Jesus sacrificed His life so we could live. Likewise, our sacrifice invites divine intervention,
releases power
, and draws us closer to God.

Key Scriptures & Takeaways

Sacrifice Releases Power

  • Fasting is a form of sacrifice that brings spiritual strength. Jesus fasted for 40 days and was filled with power afterward.
  • 1 Kings 18:38–39 – Elijah’s sacrifice on Mt. Carmel brought down fire from heaven an turned hearts back to God.

Sacrifice Ends Plagues

Samuel 24:24–25 – David refused to offer God what cost him nothing. His sacrifice
stopped a deadly plague.
Your sacrifice can break cycles, heal families, and shift spiritual battles.

Your Sacrifice Has a Voice
It speaks on your behalf and draws the attention of heaven. Power is released when we obey
God in giving.

Examples of Sacrificial Living

Peter chose to be crucified upside down—he didn’t consider himself worthy to die like
Jesus.
Solomon gave generously and sacrificially.
1 Kings 3:3–5 – Solomon’s offering moved God to appear in a dream and say, “Ask
Me.” His request for wisdom led to God giving him riches and honor too.
David had a heart to build God’s temple.
The Early Church in Acts 5 gave sacrificially. Ananias and Sapphira lied about their
giving and faced judgment—not because of the amount, but the condition of their hearts.

Sacrifice That Moves God

● Love for God – Let love fuel your giving.
Heart Posture – Be a cheerful giver.
Quality Matters – Don’t give God leftovers; give Him your best.
Sometimes we offer our Ishmael when God is asking for our Isaac.
● Obedience Matters – Lot’s wife looked back and was turned into salt. Partial obedience
blocks blessing.

Final Encouragement

● Sacrifice opens the door to blessing.
● It moves God’s hand in your favor.
● It proves your trust in Him.

When you trust in the Lord, you’ll never be ashamed.
Sacrifice now, and experience power later.
