Topic: Making Spiritual Progress – Keep the Fire of God in Your Heart
Spiritual progress requires a constant excitement for the things of God. This excitement fuels our drive to pray, give, win souls, and serve. We must be intentional about keeping the fire of God alive in our hearts.
Romans 12:11 – “Not lagging in diligence, fervent in spirit, serving the Lord.”
Key Scriptures & Takeaways
Don’t Let Your Status Kill Your Fire
Philippians 4:4 – “Rejoice in the Lord always…”
Whether in good or challenging seasons, keep your spiritual joy alive.
Acts 5:40–42 – The apostles rejoiced even after being beaten for preaching Jesus. They kept preaching daily without ceasing.
Spiritual fire leads to consistency and boldness.
The Fire Must Be Kept Burning
Leviticus 6:12–13 – The fire on the altar must never go out.
Fire represents the excitement and passion stirred up by the Holy Spirit.
We receive this fire when we receive Christ, and it must be protected and maintained.
2 Timothy 1:14 – Guard the good gift within you through the Holy Spirit.
Fan the flames of your spiritual passion daily.
How to Keep the Fire Burning
1.Fuel the Fire with the Word of God (Wood)
Jeremiah 15:16 – “Your words were found, and I ate them…”
The Word of God is your daily fuel—the wood that keeps your fire lit.
Jeremiah 20:9 – God’s Word becomes like a fire shut up in our bones.
When the Word is alive in you, you can’t help but speak it.
2.Be Consistent in Worship and Sacrifice
Like the priests adding wood to the altar daily, we must also consistently build up our spirits through worship, prayer, and surrender.
Final Encouragement
Something great has been released into you—don’t let it fade.
Keep the fire of the Holy Spirit burning. Let the Word ignite your heart.
When the fire is alive in you:
● You’ll bless others with boldness
● You’ll serve with joy
● You’ll carry a passion that’s contagious
Protect your fire. Feed it daily. Let it never go out.
